Popular Congolese musician Koffi Olomide has been charged with assault and battery

Congolese musician Koffi Olomide was arrested this morning at his home in an upmarket neighbourhood of Kinshasa, DRC, following a court order. The singer who was deported by the Kenyan government last week after a video emerged showing him kicking one of his female dancers at Nairobi Airport, is now facing possible Jail time.
 

The music star was handcuffed, put into a police car and taken to a court building where a prosecutor was waiting for him. Reports by Local media now indicate that he has been charged with assault and battery. According to BBC, Koffi who was only given only a three-month suspended sentence for assaulting one of his producers in 2012, could be sentenced to up to five years in prison if convicted.
